Life is Strange 2 has returned for its penultimate episode, a dense and troubling exploration of faith, prejudice and family in a time and place that has rarely been so divided: modern America. He was nothing more before, but now the devs do not even bother to hide it. Additionally, in this episode the little brother finally is openly reduced to the plot device. Everything is filler in this episode, once again no decision matters, nothing has a lasting impact. Episode 2 features some major story revelations and a massive cliffhanger, episode 3 then adopts a more relaxed pacing, before episode 4 picks things right back up. Episode 4 of Life is Strange 2 is another disappointment. During the third episode of Life is Strange 2, main character Sean Diaz is presented with a choice that could help bring his ordeal. Episode 3, in particular, feels like a considerably slower episode compared to those either side of it. A cross-country road-trip driven by player choice (apparently). There are some pacing issues throughout Life Is Strange 2. The visuals have been given a nice touch-up, too, to really help bring the stunning, varied environments of scorching deserts, lush Californian forests, and a snow-covered suburbia to life. In a post-Telltale industry, Life is Strange’s structure already feels like an eccentricity. So much of what the brothers’ story happened off-screen-entire characters and story arcs were relegated to pages in Sean’s diary-that meant it was difficult to stay engaged between chapters. The time between episodes seems to have been an attempt to mirror the length of Sean and Daniel’s journey, but to do so at the expense of narrative pacing and character development feels misjudged. Despite some of its weaker aspects, Episode 4 brings Life is Strange 2 to an engaging place narratively as the story draws nearer to its conclusion, thanks to its compelling arc of. Nearly four months passed between episodes one and two alone, and while the release cadence sped up as the series reached its finale, the damage had already been done. As the penultimate chapter of the season, Life is Strange 2: Episode 4 brings the story to a head with several challenging situations.
